Let's say she buys 2 40lb bags. She's spent $44 on 80lbs of food, which is 55 cents per pound. Add the $50 in, she's now spent $94 for 80lbs of food, which is $1.18 per pound...which is about what a lesser "decent" food will run. If you average that out, it's $.86/lb....which is CHEAP, IMO. Lately, I have seen foods $2/lb and up that have more grain in it than Kirkland's. So, IMO, it's worth it if she buys more than 2 bags and never buys another item from Costco. However, I think there's enough stuff you can get at Costco that she's ending up WAY ahead of the game both on her dogs and herself and husband and the household. JMO though!
