Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! I wish I had more time to spend on the forums as there is an unbelievable amount of information available here and everyone seems so supportive and helpful to each other. I've already gotten in a bit of hot water at home for spending so much time on the dog - evidently either walking, feeding, training, watching videos, talking about, or spending time on these forums is all I do any more...or so I've been told. };^)

I'm ecstatic today as I found a local GSD 'celebrity' of sorts that just lives down the road and she is going to start helping me with obedience training at her training facility. Her record in raising and training champions is quite impressive and according to her book, her training style is almost identical to that I've been using from Ed's '8 weeks to 8 months' and 'Basic Obedience' videos. With some time, patience, professional input, and a little luck, I hope to establish a rock solid foundation in obedience and possibly get her training for obedience competition in the future!

Matthew, nice looking dog,and you look so proud, as far as hot water ,be prepared as the work it takes will keep you in it for awhile.Then surprise you have a safe well trained dog who your family will love all the days of his life. So enjoy and remember all things come to an end, training is if half the fun. I would love to see him and your face in a year. Best of luck Dee
