... I don't like reading on my computer, I'd much rather sit in a comfortable chair and lean back and read. I think, don't know, but think the kindle would allow me to do that comfortably.
That's a big drawback. I like to read in bed.
The Kindle makes reading in bed a lot easier. I never used to read in bed until I got mine.
I didn't think I'd like it, but I do. I also use it to read at the gym when I'm doing cardio. It makes that tedious time go a lot faster.
Wait, that doesn't sound right! With all the work you do with your dogs, you still go to the gym to get a cardio workout???? Does Ed go with you?
I love books, too but the idea of being able to get all of my books in one electronic device and not having to carry hundreds of pounds of books around every time I have to move...wow, that's a huge selling point for me.
Cindy, does the Kindle have headphone outputs for the reading function? That would be awesome on plane rides...I like audio books for that reason but it seems like such a waste of space considering...
Ok I have another question, when you are reading is the entire page of the book on the electronic page, or do you have to scroll?
The kindle does not scroll, it goes page to page. The pages just wont be as big, but you can adjust the size of the font so you can get more words on one page or less.

The big selling point for me was being able to get text books for college on it rather then paying $80 a book. So far I have only taken one class and none of the books I need are available as a e-book lol. Also, yes you can use headphones with the kindle.
Just found a interesting book. 10,000 Year Explosion Not exactly about dog training but it does talk about genetics and evolution. Down the line (way down the line) I would like to get into dog breeding so I am some what interested in genetics and things like that. I just read the free sample, and for a Book about Genetics it does a good job of keeping you interested (at least for the free part lol)
I usually embrace technology but I can't warm up to the Kindle concept - I like having a house full of books and bookcases.
Guess I'm just old fashion in that respect.....
My brother loves his. He uses his for internet on the go - anywhere he has a sprint signal he can get online. It's not color and not a PDA, but there is no monthly fee like you've got with a cell phone/PDA.
