Well I just bathed him. It was a lot like wrestling a greased pig during the wetting and rinsing parts. But he stayed nice and still for the massage during the sudsing part!
In the middle of it all Nico came and dropped a slobbery, hot, dead, mole on my bare foot. So I screamed and cursed and flung it across the yard and Yote started in with howling and yipping.
I wonder my neighbors think!!

True does if I set him loose. And he throws himself to the ground and starts rolling, which kind of defeats the whole purpose of getting CLEAN.
He now goes directly into the laundry room where he's learned "dry yourself off".
Hahaha! I always give a bath right before I am going to clean house and vacuum, so I let them run around the house and rub their faces in the carpet. It gives me more incentive to REALLY clean!

We had to start using Comfortis because Kasey is allergic to flea bites (and half the world!). This is the second month and it really seems to help a lot. It doesn't kill ticks, so if you have to worry about those, make sure you talk with your vet about tick control - the dermatology vets are now using Comfortis AND Frontline in the summer months on flea allergic dogs. Frontline alone (or Avantage) just doesn't cut it for these dogs because the later in the month it gets, the weaker the protection is - especially with weekly baths. So we have to give Comfortis, then 2 weeks later put the Frontline on, then 2 weeks later Comfortis. That way he is always covered for fleas as each product starts to wind down. I HATE to have to do this, but the biting that caused infected rashes has gotten a lot less and his skin looks a lot better. Fleas can really cause havoc!!
The only time Ticks are a real concern is when we take one of them to the lake, and I can just spray them down those weekends.
Yesterday everyone was bathed and this morning I vaccumed everywhere and threw the bag out. This evening I am going to mop with a strong solution of mr. clean with febreeze, I figure the soap should do the fleas in that are hiding in the cracks of the wood floors.
I also covered the fish tanks in the living room with trash bags
and sprayed the couch down too.
If nothing else the dogs smell good and the house is really clean!!
