Hmmmm. Then the term "rock star" is about minerals?
Women throwing undergarments on stage ... at igneous formations and chunks of granite ....
While I have had said undergarments thrown at me while on stage and have talked to the people who think being a working musician is glamorous (it sure isn't!), I've had far more people tell me that I should get a real job and that musicians are just lazy bums. Some of those people are at shows or are hobbyist musicians, people you wouldn't expect that kind of sentiment from.
As long as the girlies are dancing and I get paid, that's all I really care about these days.

I can certainly understand the frustration of those who feel the press does not honor soldiers killed or injured in action. I can also understand the frustration of those who feel MJ has been maligned unfairly for years in the press.
Michael Jackson was found to be not guilty. Two of the jurors later said that they thought he WAS guilty....of course, they both had just come out with their own books to pimp, er I mean sell. The one kid has recanted his allegations. The parents of all the kids involved were suspect. The only persons who REALLY know what went on, are those who were there, and one of them is now dead....I'm pretty sure not ONE person who frequents this board was in that bedroom.
Michael Jackson had a disease called Vitiligo which caused his skin to have big white patches, one of the acceptable treatments that many opt for is de-pigmentation, of course, you then must do everything to stay out of the sun (hence the umbrellas, etc.). He was also diagnosed with Lupus in the early 80s, there are several different forms of Lupus, but it is my understanding it is a very painful and debilitating chronic disease, many sufferers do take pain medication on a regular basis, which allows them some semblance of a normal and good quality life.
The guy was surrounded by yes men and plastic surgeons with no morals, willing to take his money and tell him they could do what he wanted, knowing full well they couldn't and would most likely turn him into a monster.
I guess this really is a cautionary tale. No matter how many adoring fans or how much money you have, if you are a public figure, and public opinion turns, warranted or not, you are basically screwed for life.
