No I am not old enough, you smart-a$$ ) but I'm gonna guess Johnny Mercer, Burl Ives, and a whole bunch of novelty singers during the war. I think it was a big soldier-singing song, too. I think the actual title is Mairzy Doats or maybe Maresy Doats (the nonsense spelling). The very first singer (as well as the writers) were, I think, one-hit wonders out of NY, and I don't know their names.
I'm a Trivial Pursuit fan, but you got me there.
