jinopo has a great rep for working GSD. that said, it WOULD be helpful if you would post peds on both sire/dam of the litter you're looking at: each individual dog has it's own strengths/weaknesses.
generalizations about west german/DDR/Czech dogs are really not helpful, IMO. for example, i've heard for years that DDR dogs are slow to mature and Czech dogs aren't. then there're ppl that say Czech dogs are slow to mature. slower to mature than WHAT? a mal?? so i call BS on that.
again--post the peds if you want opinions on the individual dogs. keep doing research alan. and i may as well ask now: what are you planning on doing with your dog?

I have a female from Jinopo, she is more dog than most average dog owners could handle. She needs to be mentally stimulated daily. She needs to be ran....daily. Walking around the block and then throwing the ball half a dozen times isn't good enough. She reminds me of a child with ADD or ADHD. She has HUGE amounts of prey drive and anyone that doesn't know what they were doing..and had cats...wouldn't have cats anymore. She has a huge amount of hunt drive...she will search endlessly for a ball.
She doesn't tire at ALL...I havent' seen her sleep but once...and like Will R.'s wife says, I think that the cats here, have developed a twitch because of her. Her and Fetz share a grandfather.
On the other hand, she is a social dog. She is good with other dogs to a point. She will ignore them for the most part unless they get in her face. If she wants something from them ie. a ball she takes it. If they have a problem with it, and I allowed it, she would fix their problem. She isn't pushy until the other dogs push first. She is dominant but doesn't need to prove it all of the time. Which I find nice. All of this activity and she is *6* years old!! Still acting like a 3 year old.
Jinopo themselves have very nice dogs, and have a reputation for providing quality dogs to all sorts of venues. Be it police, sport, SAR, etc. etc. Something that I have noticed since I have gotten Elsa from them 6 years ago, I notice that their males used to all be ZVV3 and I think now, they have ONE stud with the ZVV3 title. Don't know their reasoning...but something that I have noticed.

Congrats on starting your search early and doing research!
Do you have a SAR group already that you train with? Sometimes they can really help you find a good breeder.

Alan, your profile doesn't say where you live but if you are in the states and this will be your first working line dog you may want to consider breeders closer to you.
Closer breeder SHOULD mean more help if problems pop up and of course you would save the cost of international shipping.
Just something to consider.

Has a high food and prey drive, strong nerves, and will always bite the hand (with the toy) before you can lift to throw it.His bite is hard and fast.He can be head strong and at times sassy.I really need to keep him active and mentally challenged.A very quick learner. I wonder who is training who most days.
LOL, sounds like my little Czech boy
