Actually Betty, I am! But I do appreciate all the help that I have been getting from the forums here. Of course I am not going to do anything until I am able to meet with them in person and see the dogs and facility.
Hey Tom, did you ask them about what they do with the dogs besides breed them? I would be curious about the titles on the females and how much of it they actualy trained and trialed them to. If its on the website I missed it.
$1500 is not more than most breeders of similar lines, although it's on the higher end for dogs w/no breed surveys, etc. I was thinking it might be really outrageous from their description.
Steve makes a good point, too. OTOH, however, there are dogs that people titled themselves to Sch. 3...and it turns out that their dog was the only dog IN the trial...LOL. So, is their H.O.T. dog better than the import that came titled with a REAL title??? See what they do with their dogs. Some people do NOTHING with them. I personally don't care if they title them, but they need to do something with them, or IMO, they don't learn the dogs' full temperament. How can they make sound breeding decisions w/out knowing that? So many ways to look at the same issue...
Confusion is a good sign. If you aren't confused by all this, you aren't really thinking about it;-)
I could be completely wrong, but when I look at a breeders website and they have links to Sch.USA and the SV and drop those types of things into their credentials but I don't see anything that verifies they have hands on involvement in those types of things, it makes me kinda wonder.
Their dogs may be all that, but it reads to me like a lot of implying with nothing behind it.
I agree. That's kind of how I felt and why I pointed out that they didn't even list the titles/accomplishments correctly. Is that a big deal in and of itself? Of course not. BUT- it sure makes you wonder if they have any idea about such things...
