Connie, I liked that video. I'll try it the way she demonstrates. She doesn't actually mark the behavior though, does she? She says 'good', but not as an actual marker.

That is how I taught it too, by moving into them and rewarding after a step or two. I wasn't using markers when I trained Nico, but I do now.

I don't have sound on this computer and the video is playing kinda choppy, but I can see a happy, interested Chula Lynne. That looks like good training to me.

I also really enjoyed seeing Chula "in the round" - she's SUCH a stunner.
Though I admit, like Connie, I was completely confused by the sound at first - your birds had me thinking you were whistling or clicking to Chula at really strange times! But the longer I listened, the more obvious it was...
Ahhh, I miss my budgies. Some people hate their "noise", but I just loved the sounds they made. Sure, the all out screaming could get old, but the chortling and chirping was super comforting to me...

The budgies are great! When it's warm (pretty much all the time except right now I put them outside on our front patio and I have my coffee in the morning out there. Very relaxing, for some reason, to hear them chirping and cheeping...
