I forgot to mention I do use Mucinex sometimes if I'm very congested (i'll use it with the Clarinex D or alone) and I feel that it helps. It's the only non-prescription drug I use. Hopefully environmental things help you, they font for me because I'm not actually allergic to anything. Sigh!
I have chronic allergies, to damn near everything. This year over all has been a bad year for my allergies, I don't know why.
It got so bad in the spring I actually got a steroid shot in my thigh to ease the symptoms, it made me sweat like a pig for a few weeks but it helped for months.
I am considering asking for another one because I have been congested since thanksgiving and I work in a restaurant, no one wants me to be sneezing and sniffling when they come in
I also use claritin D, it is pain to buy here but it works wonders, as does Nasacort. Allegra is a prescription but it works really well for me most of the time, lately though I have needed the Decongestant part and haven't gotten around to asking the doctor about allegra D.
I take Allegra D when my allergies get bad. For me it's the best thing I've used. I've only needed it once since moving out of Utah (no cottonwood trees here in S. Cal. LOL).

Have any of you allergy sufferers tried using a Neti Pot to rinse out your nose and sinuses?
Yes, it's weird. But it's not nearly as difficult or strange as I thought it would be when I started using one 2 years ago. I figured it out within minutes. I do it in the shower to reduce the mess. I use mine daily and I love it.
I have found that daily use has eliminated all my seasonal allergy symptoms, and greatly reduced the number and severity of colds, etc. It's easy, cheap (free), all-natural, no drugs. f you think about it, it's not that different than washing your hands after handling something icky--except with a Neti Pot you're washing the inside of your nose. Might be worth a try.
I just got rid of a sinus pressure that sure felt like an infection with a Neti pot and I am sooo happy I didn't have to resort to antibiotics!
It truly is a great thing, especially for allergy sufferers.
