ah! i think this is important:
when on rice and royal canin, stools are huge. (i thought he s either not digesting or simply cause his body s spitting out the grain/rice)
with the chicken/carrots/olive oil diet, stools were tiny and dark, but still very watery and mushy

Royal Canin has a ton of grains and fillers in it. That's where your bulk is coming from. The body doesn't use it all, so out it goes.

m feeding him twice a day: 7am and 6pm
...
i feel like such an idiot right now ...
no, they didnt ask for a stool sample. and i didnt even think about it.
they took a blood test to check if he had the pancreatic enzyme def – which came out inconclusive – but that was it..
for the stool sample, the vet just stuck his finger and got some stool out to look at it.
i ll take one to test first thing tomorrow. these 2 vets are supposed to be one of the best here... i cant believe it didnt occur to me! @!^#&$^%

Michel, I'd cut out the olive oil and carrots right away. Follow what Jessica said and give him a little time for his gut to settle down.
He's on medication and your bouncing his diet around at the same time, he's got a lot of reasons to have the runs. Boiled Chicken breast, rice, yogurt in small portions till his poop firms for a couple of days.

ok this sounds good. it s amazing how you guys are seeing it from a distance and realizing what makes sense too.
M Boiled Chicken breast, rice, yogurt in small portions till his poop firms for a couple of days.
what dosage should i use? percentage of chicken vs rice? what about yogurt? would a couple of spoons do the trick?
m going to the vet tomorrow to submit a stool sample and ask about definitive testing for pancreatic insufficiency.

He is still on the meds for Giardia? You are describing classic symptoms of parasite infestation.
For the food: I would start with very very mushy overcooked rice (hardly able to discern the separate grains, it's so cooked) and add only enough skinless white poultry for palatability. Give very small meals.
Rice has binding qualities, as does rice water (cooking liquid).
Then yes, I would add a couple of spoons of unsweetened plain live-culture yogurt after a couple of meals with just the rice, chicken, and plain canned pumpkin if you have some (not pumpkin pie filling).
I agree that you want to stop fiddling with the diet until he has normal poops. If he ends up on the unbalanced rice diet for longer than a week or so, I can tell you how to add calcium. For now, my top priorities would be to get his gut calmed down and to get that fecal dropped off at the vet's.

... Getting it right for puppies is pretty darn important. ...
Big ditto, so I'd want to get the poop issue straightened out immediately so you can get him on a good diet with the right calcium. As others have mentioned, balanced doesn't mean much if the food is just zooming out the other end.

Never had green stools in pups, but I do know that in babies & young children it signifies 'rapid transit' which means that the food is passing thru the digestive tract at a very fast rate, with little to no absorption of nutrients.
I will add that pups at least up until the age of 6 months should really be fed 3x a day (very small pups 4x a day is best). If feeding kibble, adult food should be started at 6 mo. to keep growth rates slower, with is better for the skelletal system. That doesn't mean increasing the amount of the total daily ration. It means dividing it up into 3 or 4 meals. With a pup with the runs, I would feed no more than 1/8 - 1/4 cup of food at a meal. Once you see stool forming solid logs you would add more food at each meal over time. It can often take a week or 2 (after a long bout with diareah) to get totally back on track with normal food & quantities. If you rush the process...the pup will relapse.
Ditto on making up your mind about what you want to feed..raw or kibble. Many of us here feed raw & can guide you along the way, if that is the way that you choose to go. You do need to stock up on the meat cuts & suppliments etc before jumping into it. Especially, since this is a pup & you need to get the proportions correct for it to be healthy for a growing pup. Less margin for error with a pup where you have developing skelletal & other important organs etc in the process of forming for the lifetime of the dog.
Hope your pup gets better soon.

ok. that sounds like a plan then.
here s what i think is the best course of action, please advise:
today s karly s 3rd day of Dolthene (deworming syrup).he s been on royal canin for 3 days too. his stools are still green but a little less mushy.
i m gonna wait till after tomorrow to get a stool sample to give the medication its chance to fix whatever i should while keeping royal canin as not to disrupt the stomach with another change while med is in the system.
whether he s better or not, i ll start him with the rice/chicken/yogurt diet and see what happens.
both doctors are suggesting i start flagyl and lomotil in case he doesnt get better . when do u think i should do that? – i should rather have a conclusive report on the stool sample before i jump to meds right?
guys thank you so much for the replies, they re really putting things in perspective.
