Thanks for the giggle! Truthfully, I never knew people ate such a thing. Never seen it before. And, yeah, sorry to Cali but she would have to do the barnyard scramble in order to get that.
Excellent! So all I have to do is tell my dogs they can have all the sheep placenta they can find in the yard?
Yes - and it's a very simple way to feed them, don't have shop for it, don't have to pull it from the freezer, don't have to touch it!! It always kind of grosses me out a bit, but since it never seems to upset their digestive system, I just look the other way and let them enjoy it
Linda, my brother/SIL lived in China for a year and oh, the stories that can tell about the food!
I would imagine that placenta is full of nutrients.
So here is my question, would uterus be considered muscle meat or organ?
I thought that green tripe was not for human consumption?!?!
I'd probably feed it as a muscle meat in moderation. If that makes any sense.
I don't think there would ever be a natural situation where uterus would make any bulk of the diet, so it would differentiate with "muscle meat" in that regard.
That guy was going to cook the tripe, but still, how the hell could you want to eat that especially after you smelled it in it's original glory? Different strokes for different folks.
Uterus is muscle. It doesn't look like much, certainly not scary. It probably makes a nice sack to stuff with pork fat and bok choy. Sorry, but it's not as gross as a fresh bully stick, or trachea, or tongue, or chicken heads.
You don't eat the green part of the tripe, silly. After it ages a bit the green part just slips right off to leave the pretty white stuff.

Yeah, I visit one of those Asian markets with the "weird meat aisle" too. My line in the sand is the package marked "pork bung." It is exactly what you think it is.
