Six weeks is way too young to be removed from a healthy, happy litter with siblings. Unless the pup is in an unhealthy situation, in my opinion, you are stepping off on the completely wrong foot by removing the pup from his/her mom at this age. Any advantage you can give yourself in raising three dogs - I'd take it.

I do know for sure, she is going to be very jealous of the new pup ( 6 wk old male Black Lab)...and for the first time in my life, I cannot predict how one of my dogs is going to behave...I'm not sure what Arwen will do.
What goals do you have for this puppy? Will letting two adult dogs mingle with your puppy assist in this goal?
PS.. Dogs don't get jealous. They get possessive. Jealousy is a human trait.
