I don't know the area you live in but we have alot of hunt land that is public. I take Finn on a 25 ft lead and let him play in the grassy areas to get excersize. We also have field dog training areas. The rules are posted and have to be followed. The dogs need to be on leads this might help in dealing with the issue of having your pup on a lead. It also gives you alot of area to play and you get to practice is natural abilities such as scenting out things. I hope this might help come up with some ideas. Mary
