And give you 'buddy' a kick in the A$$ for being a butthead! He may have been amuzed by your pups responce to his behavior, but it was stupid & cruel to your dog. You should have removed the dog the first time he did this after you had requested he not have any contact with the dog....or asked him to leave the house & not hurry back.
YOUR house, YOUR dog, YOUR rules or tell him to stay home. You don't need 'friends' like that around your dog. It's not fair to your dog.
To avoid what may turn into something serious (a bite) down the road as the dog gets older, if you can't trust visitors to obey your rules,I would just crate the dog when company comes over. Period. Ground work or not, if you have friends that deliberately adgitate your dog, it will lead to a poor outcome in the future.
he visits once a year if that so no problem there.
I think he wasn't trying to be a tough guy and doing it on purpose but he was afraid and that was his reaction. however, point well taken and now if someone is not capable of following MY rules, Fanta goes into her crate.
question on that. Crate is in the living room now, she has her bed in our bedroom too. is that arrangement OK or should we change it?
