I had a cat that had almost identical problems. He would vomit up his kibble a couple hours after eating, but always normal behaviour otherwise.
Suddenly, he started showing signs of sickness like you describe. I worked at a very large emergency/referral center, and luckily I was doing a stint specifically in IM (internal medicine) at the time. We tried every diagnostic test available, and never did get a conclusive dx. Now my mom has him, and he only seems to tolerate one specific brand of food, and she has to make sure (even more than normal), that he stays very hydrated, as dehydration seemed to play a key part in the whole equation (beyond normal dehydration from vomiting).
I guess I'm just trying to say that it could just be something as simple as a change of food. However, it could be something more, of course. I hope you find the answer soon.

Thx everyone!
The vet kept him Which really has me freaked out because he knows me and how particular I am. Anyways he has to stay for iv fluids/meds as the vomiting worsened over the course of the afternoon. No answers yet, awaiting final results. The urine I brought with me looked cloudy with sediments, but waiting with paws crossed (as Barbara/Falcon say).

Ana yes torsion is ruled out, luckily and thank you. Current update: xrays only showed gas what appeared to be gas bubbles no twisting, although vet won't completely rule out foreign body until repeat of films tomorrow but feels very unlikely. Weight is down to 83# now, temp at the vet was 98.9-stated not dangerously low yet, the blood work in so far does not support dehydration, urine came back very high in the white blood cell count, prostate is large but non-tender or he is a stoic boy. Vet says that he is not addisonian but believes that he has atypical addision's and he just doesn't have any concrete answers for me yet other than to support him with antibiotics/anti-nausea/fluids and we will have to wait until tomorrow for the rest of the lab results, repeat films and how he is responding.
Anything is possible but he really isn't a chewer and doesn't have access to a lot of things so I'm pretty sure not a foreign body. I just don't really know what to think, there seems to be some contradicting findings.

Aimee, so sorry you and your boy are having to go through this.
Hopefully the Vet will have this figured out soon.
I just wanted you to know I am thinking of you.
Hang in there! He's in good hands tonight.

I finally got my guy back home now. He was back up to his 89# mark this am from the IV fluids/meds and no vomiting overnight. Ate/drank at the vet and kept all that down through the day.
Nothing real significant in the labs that weren't complete yesterday and the xrays were the exact same as yesterday. Current plan is to treat as a UTI with Baytril for 2 wks and then repeat urine test and recheck prostate. Once that is cleared address his initial vomiting issues if still present and that aytpical addison's theory. I'm going to go ahead and transition to raw next week, my whole wait/see -- wish/wash theory is already shot anyways.
Most importantly he is bright, happy and back to his self, which I'm grateful for
Thanks for allowing me post all of this.....

I was just about to post, no vomit for 12 days now but was waiting for the 2wk mark....YIPPEEE!
Just now he 'marked' in the house, the urine looked off to me so I checked the urine with a urine stick and positive for leukocytes, ketones, protein and blood. He finished a 2 wk cycle of Baytril, 3 days later had a normal urinalysis. Then had 5 days of flagyl and all was fine until now.
Granted the floor is not sterile and we'll be off to the vet again in the morning. I know males can get UTI's but thought it was not all that common. Juno is intact and 3 yrs of age.
Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts about males with UTI's.....thx so VERY much

Ketones?
Yes, vet first thing.
I have to find something to link you to, but I think that ketonuria is a pointer of only a few specific conditions. Diabetes is one.
And did the vet mention kidney disease?
Let me find something better than my aging brain for these test explanations.

I was thinking the same thing re: ketones and diabetes. I did a glucose quick check and it was 140. The blood glucose done at vet has always been within range also. I'm not ruling that out, but he does not act like a classic diabetic poly uria/dipsia.
No mention of kidney disease, the BUN, creatinine within norm range.
ughh...thx
