Thanks Connie for the bump. Just saw it. (a few days behind in my leerburg reading!)
We got the official notice today- the farm is SOLD. We have 30 days to vacate. Or what, I'm not exactly sure, but the new owner is a hog farmer and intends to tear down fencing and buildings in 30 days. So we've got our written in stone deadline now.
Furrytale was featured on the local news channel. Komo 4. Seattle Washington. It's not online yet, but I'll post a link to it when I find it.
We've got homes for 7 pigs, 0 horses, 5 kittens (0 cats, though) and several young and old dogs. Still have many 'adoptable' doggys, and a couple high quality seniors around. I'm stressing about the horses.

We've got homes for 0 horses...
Kelly, I was just looking through the facebook page and there was a post Sunday about a possible home for Rick and Roscoe, if you could raise the money to drive them to WI... is this still pending? (fingers crossed!)
The MSPCA has a large animal rescue farm (Nevins Farm) in Methuen, MA that takes in a lot of horses, but they're in MA... not terribly convenient. I can email them and at least inquire as to whether they might have some contacts elsewhere closer to you.
Arrrggg, this is so frustrating... I wish I could take a horse myself, but while that's just not a possibility for me, I can make a donation to get some of these guys to a home that will welcome them, no matter how far away.

They did have a home offer... but the family cannot afford to ship them. Thats why I stuck that post on facebook, asking if anyone would help with shipping costs. From what the owner tells me, not much has come in- so it's looking like a no. They are such sweet boys, and have no serious health problems, (just age related arthritis, and a couple old injuries that make them useful as a pretty pasture ornament) I'd hate to see them PTS in 30 days for lack of a home.
I think before they'd be PTS, we'd surrender them to the local humane society. Then again, I know we have a local meat man that keeps track of the humane society. It (our humane society) does not have the best reputation around here.
Michael, Thank you! The support means worlds to myself, and the rest of the staff. Hard days ahead. Unless you can buy us a property to relocate to.... well, that'd be ideal.

I was just looking through the facebook page
Thanks for looking us up on facebook, though! The more people we can get the word out to, the better. Ultimately it may be too little, too late... but hopefully good homes can be found!

Kelly, have you contacted the best Friends sanctuary in Kanab, UT to see if they could take any of the dogs and possibly the cats? I don't know that they accept any other animals but it might be worth asking.

I was also wondering if you'd thought about contacting Best Friends, in Kanab. I'm not speaking for them, of course, because I have no affiliation with them, but their website says they do have some horses. They also mention they have something called the Best Friends Network, presumably to help in cases similar to this.
I too would be willing to donate towards shipping the horses. Just let us know when and where. It's been many, many years since I've had to ship a horse across several states, but it was $500-plus back then and I'm sure could be in the thousands now, depending on the distance.

What is the cost of moving a horse?
On the facebook page the estimate was between $1200 and 1400 for TWO horses. That price changes I'm sure with distance, but it sounds like they had quoted on this move in particular.
