... Is it normal for dogs to sometimes have looser than normal stools for no reason? ... I just wonder if some dogs are just more sensitive than others and if stuff like this can occur from time to time without it meaning that there's anything 'wrong' ...
Yes and yes.

... an 'allergy vent-a-thon' post for all of us who needed to de-stress from being caretakers of allergy dogs! It has been really bad the past month or 2 - EVEN THOUGH IT'S WINTER!! There, I feel better now.
Dust mites, mold in furnace outlets, and many other allergens are more prevalent in winter.
Where I live, the occasional 65-degree day in February confuses plant life, too, and stuff blooms out of season. This too wreaks havoc with my allergic dog.
Here, we have days on end of rain for winter (when we're lucky: a drought-free year!); the resulting mildew affects my allergic dog.
In spring and fall, he is worse at sunup and sundown when the breeze blows the pollen around. (I close all windows and doors at those two times of day in spring and fall.)

In other words, there is no allergy season! We just suffer all year round!!

Well, it depends on the individual dog's allergies.
Mine has the worst time in the spring and fall, especially sunup and sundown, and very little winter problem. Other dogs with dust-mite or mildew allergies will have a different experience.

Since Kasey tested positive for 45 things, including mildew, mold, lots of different pollens, and even human dander!!, then it would make sense that he has year round problems!

My Luna had no seasonal breaks, either. Constant maintenance, constant log-keeping, constant trials with antihistamines, probiotics, Omega 3s, and keeping allergens off her body and bedding so she wouldn't be inhaling them 24/7.
But you know that you have given this dog a life of mostly comfort, and that he could not/would not have been given that by many people.

Thank you Connie! You have been a lifeline for me through this!
