Here is a link which give a bit more info.... It sounds pretty safe. If it is approved to be rubbed on children's chests, I can't imagine that it is dangerous in any fashion.

I don't think that he will ingest much of it. I have successfully used Vicks vaporub to discourage chewing on certain things. Mine (in general) have avoided eating it.
I will try the vicks vapo rub treatment first. Thank you guys so much for giving me ideas. I knew I would look silly spraying Old spice on helga's butt :P

The past two years has brought much debate over the use of VVR ,it contains Camphor which is toxic if ingested..Those with young children are now advised against it's use.
Quote:
Swallowing a few teaspoons of camphor — one of the main ingredients in VapoRub and other topical medications, such as Campho-Phenique and Bengay — can cause fatal poisoning in toddlers. Topical camphor absorbed through mucous membranes or broken skin also can be toxic. That's why you should never put VapoRub in or around the nostrils — particularly a small child's nostrils. Finally, if VapoRub gets in your eye, it can injure your cornea.
Yeah, I was the kid that got it smeared all over my nose.
I just went through this with Roger, days of no food, howling, and his brain sucked right out of his head, not to mention the humorous WWF matches.
After 3 nights of no sleep, I found myself chanting eenie-meenie-miny-moe ovaries or testicles gotta go.

That is AWESOME.
Really though, I don't think the chlorophyll has nasty side effects, and it did work on the bitch I know. She lived with 4 intact males. I can't say they had NO interest, but it was certainly diminished.
