LOL!! I'm "selective" bordering into "tolerant"...
Back when I was a tech I kind of prided myself in not just dealing with the animals but also trying extra hard to relate to the clients and their concerns...I didn't want to fall into the camp of animal worker that was a loner and kept in the back kennels...
But I have to say that I guess I am more sensitive and much, much more attuned to animals as I've gotten older. And with all that's been going on lately there's days when I can't stand most pet 'owners' -that's not very charitable or balanced of course and I'll get over it as I'm starting my foster and volunteer "second life"....but I despair for our species sometimes -I really do..

LOL!!! Nothing...my point is that I'm teetering into joining them. That is why I signed up for the bully foster/rehab. I realized if I was at that intake or rehoming desk I'd likely come over the counter...

HEY! What've you got against us?
Nothing....
So long as I have a catch pole handy.
ROFL. Good one Lauren!
One of my sad thought about a new job I have (as a groomer, rather then a vet tech) is at the shop I'm working at the groomers have virtually no interaction with the clients. I like to think I'm good with people in a setting I'm comfortable in. (vet office, animals rescue, groom shop) Other then that, I rely heavily on my dog to increase my comfort level in new situations.
The one thing I do like about interacting with the public is that I hope to able to change misperceptions about dogs.
I've loved my English class this semester because I could ppick the topic of my papers within a certain parameter. Three of my papers have been dog related and I've loved working on them!
But yeah, I'm still pretty introverted. Just not as bad as I was pre dog!
I do fine with other dog people.
I do fine with other Military people.
Beyond that... you could call me aloof.
Because military types are honest with each other, sometimes brutaly. while your "friends" at the office will let you walk around all day with TP stuck to your shoe, your fly down and a booger hanger and failed deoderant. Your shipmates will let you know in a heartbeat that you're screwing up because one, you reflect the unit, two, they'll keep themselve entertained for days busting your balls over it.
