I don't think it counts unless it's a stranger....I know Ryuk would probably let one of my new housemates in at this point (okay, maybe a warning bark still...but a low one)....however I thought he was going to eat the electrician who's been here every day for the past week and was innocently walking across the deck....

Free to good home: 2yr old DS. Has CGC & HCT. Currently ready for SchH BH. Easily capable of going to SchH3. Strong herding instinct, in training for JHD. TERRIBLE guard dog!!!!!!
Kellllly, you shooda' gotten a GSD!! Heheheheeeee. JUST kidding.
They are weird in what they are aware of, as in Turbo's case (or else Michael's wife needed a shower BIG TIME) and they can also be weird in what they miss...
Years ago Doug broke his collar bone and had to sleep in the recliner in the den for a while. I woke up one night and went out to see if he was doing okay. Tip-toeing into the den, the next thing I knew I had a ticked off yellow labrador retriever coming at me snarling and about to rip my face off!!! Jenny, our sweet, loveable lab was hell bent on stopping the evil intruder in her tracks! As soon as I screamed "IT'S MEEEE!" she was all wiggly and acting embarrassed, but she sure showed us a side we had never seen.

Debbie Downer has come to post. Any chance Koenig might have a hearing issue? If he doesn't ordinarily greet Richard when he comes home I wouldn't think that way but if he does, I'd probably want to rule it out.

Barbara, you're such a brat!!!!! :P If a quality working line GSD had wandered into the rescue, that's what I'd be training at this point, rather then the bonkers DS. Koenig fell into my lap.
Shelia... I'll watch him, but I really don't think he does. He's pretty alert. Cat meows across the house, and he's flying down the hall. Can't miss an opportunity to harass the kittycat.

I was thinking more along the lines of wax overload (pollen counts are high here) and I've learned that crap gets stuck in the ears and causes mayhem. Thor's getting the precautionary Nolva Cleanse cleaning every two days. Also keeps bacteria from swimming and getting water in the ears at bay.

I'm a vet tech/groomer. These pups have CLEAN ears. ahahah. Koenig's drive me nuts, they are HUGE, and have brindley/spotten skin on the inside (and no hair). They look dirty, and I'm constantly scrubbing the inside trying to get the pigment even. Does not work. My poor dog... lol.

Richard said Koenig was busy taking a carpet bath.
Apparently I have an utterly useless 85lb scary looking dog.
LOL, sounds like my idea of the perfect dog.
I don’t know about the “Free” bit but maybe a trade? Just until you’ve had enough of the liability/management issues and scream for your WONDERFUL dog (that doesn’t want to eat everybody) back.
Oh wait… that would mean the kids would have to trade places too. Unfortunately, we’re not really set up for chicklets (day care arrangements and all). Barbara, Michael??
And with Vince, you won’t be taking any showers without locked gates and doors.
When friends come over, (these are people he’s met) there’s still an initial settling period. If no children, I’ll often have him out (always on leash), but they know to be statues while he catches their drift and settles into their presence. And trust me, any sudden, unexpected moves before his internal jets have cooled; he’s got the potential to put on quite a show. (Sharp as nails, nothing I trained and working diligently to reduce).
He DOES NOT need to be this vigilant, he just forgets we have guns.
And good gawd, even after an hour or two, should they need to get something from their vehicle and come back in, it’s like they were never here to begin with. It’s meet and greet, hiss and spit, all over again. I swear this boy’s got Alzheimer’s.
Trade?

Ok, Ok, maybe I kinda like my un-vigilant DS.
I have had offers on fb from a few friends with door-barker dogs to let them show Koe what it is all about. lol. Poor dog. He kicks butt while working, I guess he really takes his down time seriously!
"He DOES NOT need to be this vigilant, he just forgets we have guns. "
(I really got a kick out of that like CJ!)
