I agree. My dogs have been plagued with giardia on and off for my entire life. I live in the Pacific Northwest, afterall! Gotta love that Seattle weather...
We hike, A LOT. You can only prevent dogs from drinking out of puddles/lakes/streams so much.
I've had giardia once, but I didn't get it from my dog. (old filter while out hiking. Sad) I don't think it's as common to be transferred from one dog to another dog, or dog-human as people seem to be thinking. Maybe you had a stomach bug... but giardia is... well.. different. (side note- none of my animals have ever shown a lower then normal activity level with giardia. Just nasty poo)
No big deal. Wait to see if they get diarrhea, then you'll already have a good idea what you may be dealing with.
