Well you could always put up a squirrel feeder.
This might be obvious but big raw bones, like a beef femur or a "carcass" if you can find it. You could go out and hide treats or safe toys around the yard when you have time. I'm trying to think of something that my dog won't tear up to recommend. He has a 5 yr old pteradactyl (one of those tuff fabric toys) that has never been destroyed, which is odd. He only has it with permission though.
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.

she hides in the utility shack and when the squirrels entered the yard she would just wait there, and make her move. She failed for about 2 months, but after that I kept finding piles of squirrels when I returned home.

LOL She's good. Our neighbor had a rat infestation and Logan has caught many a rat. I should put a small rat sticker for every kill on his crate...like a WWII plane.
