I discovered with the Dogtra 200 NCP Gold, that if you have just charged the collar, it may fire too hot when first used on the very low levels. But all I do is time it out a couple times on constant before putting it on the dog, and it seems to be alright after that. I have sensitive dogs too, so the low levels are important. Have others had this problem all the time, or mainly when the collar has a brand new full charge? Other than this small problem, my collar seems very consistent now.

How do you know it was firing too hot; just by the reaction of the dog? How long do you time it out for, and how do you know it's actually "cooled down" (for lack of better vocabulary) afterwards? I don't want to put it on the first time and scare the dog to death. lol I'm also hoping to train the foster dog with it and I doubt he's ever had one (or a prong collar either) on, so I really don't want it to be a bad experience for him. I am supposed to be getting the collar today or tomorrow, and both Gypsy and I get to meet the foster dog tomorrow. I'm excited!
