Here's what we did today:
I dumped ALL of her toys in the middle of the room. In the entryway, set up an empty (Leerbrug) box. When given her "bring" command she picked a random toy. We played with it a few minutes, then I asked her to "target" (drop it in the box). This took quite a while, and she was panting after just a few minutes.
We then went to a pet store, on an errand. There were ferrets and chinchillas to watch, kids running around and we learned that shopping carts aren't scary things. We practiced "heeling" in their parking lot. Now we've had dinner, and we're energized and ready to go! I can tell she needs a good run....maybe tomorrow.
Oh Connie--"Dogfishing" LOL!!!! That is hilarious! Will add that to my arsenal for sure, thanks. I have a cube that dispenses food that I had forgotten about. And I, too, am expecting the ubiquitous Leerburg Gift Card for Xmas. (my husband knows what I like) Will load up on other fun toys. As you can tell from the photo, she is toy deprived
