I brushed and bathed my male GSD today, and I got so much hair off him, I gathered it all up and put it in the dog kennel and told my husband I got a new dog. He about spit his coffee when he saw it. We call him fluffy. We have days in the 80s then days in the 30s, my poor dogs coat is so confused. Is it summer or winter!

I just groomed both of mine. I even did the blow out with a power dryer to get the fur out, and its still coming out. :crazy. It's been the same roller coaster weather here too.
Plus, we just got a cat, who blows it's coat spring and fall.
I have this image in my head...... Picture a cartoon of a lady covered inside a giant furball, head to toe,
and all you see are two eyes, peeking out from inside.
Tanner is THE worst. We've gone from 36 degrees one day and -40 windchill the next. His hair, the fine but stick straight Lab coat flies everywhere. It's even on top of my fridge and embeded in my sheets (and he doesn't even enter my bedroom!) At least my long-hair dogs leave clumps. They are so much easier to suck up in the vac!
If its carpet Petfresh does wonders making it not root itself into the carpet....I remember the first time we used the stuff in our old apartment, vacuumed once and picked up enough fur to make a few puppies and a cat, put some down, did it again.....picked up enough hair to make a herd of yaks....the stuff is awesome...
Now I'm on hardwood and it's tumbleweeds and I have to pluck it out of the space between the boards every day -_- I thought hard floors would be easier
Well, it had been five days since our last furminating, and the house had more tumbleweeds than a ghost town. I swept them up, then we did an hour of furminating. I thought I got every nook and cranny. I finished up by currying off all of the loose hair (I thought).
We spent the rest of the day outside desensitizing Sadie to the lawn care equipment (and she has really come a long way). WE've been inside for about 45 minutes. I haven't seen her scratch, but, voila, I just picked up two brand new tumbleweeds.
Heavy sighhh...
BTW, how does the hair get through her bed cover and on the mat inside?
