I want a Large Munsterlander one day. I love wolfdogs but would only have one if I lived in the country and rescued one. I also have thought about having a team of huskies or alternately a sled team of dutchies. I also want to one day have a small dog too....Smooth Fox Terrier, Brussels Griffon, Kerry Blue Terrier, Chow or Stafforshire Bull Terrier.
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.
I already share my space with Drift the Magnificent and Caterina the Great. Plus the other Three Amigos who round out my life quite well.
Who could want anything more??
In all honesty, I have never gone looking for a dog. There has always been something about a particular dog that draws me to them. I firmly believe that the dogs that have joined my pack chose me, not the other way around...
I have had a number of dogs in my life & been fortunate to have had several of them be 'heart dogs' ... a ruff coated collie, named 'Queenie',when I was young through my early teen years & believe it or not, a toy poodle named 'Tiny' in my early 20s- 30s. Now there was a big dog in a little package. What a trip she was to own.
But my dream heart dog is my LB black & tan, GSD bitch that is the 'whole package'. She can do it all! She is very smart, sweet yet sassy, intense & extremely driven. She is very serious when doing PP work, does flashy OB & has extreme hunt drive. She would have made a really nice SAR dog, if that had been my interest. But she can also go with me to elderly, invalid client's homes & work like a therapy dog. She has been quite the 'ride' from day 1. I love her to BITS!!!
I have been VERY, VERY blessed to have her in my life. Thanks to Ed & Cindy.
I would have liked to have been able to find a male GSD that is as nice as she is to also own.

I often think I want a certain kind of dog but end up with the perfect dog for me. Somehow circumstances put us together or the dog chooses me.
My first dog was a chow/setter. I wanted a husky, I was 13 and dead set on a husky or at least a shepherd. My dad didn't want me to have a difficult breed for my first dog as a kid. He insisted I get a lab. I didn't want a lab but we went to look at "lab puppies" that were actually chow mixes. I gave up on fighting with him about the breed and he gave up on it having to be purebred. Turns out she was just what I needed, not at all what I thought I wanted.

i've always wanted to handle a giant schnauzer and on the two occasions i've had to consider my " next " dog , i'll go look at them . then when i'm struck by just how " giant " they are , i realize they just aren't the dog for me . add to that , i imagine finding one that has a real working background could be a challenge .
Sounds like a smart dog but it was not a purebred Yorkie. Of course that's not un usual at a pet store since their stock comes from puppy mills, which aren't exactly into ethics.
As far as the breed goes, they are smart. And they are definitely terriers. Don't let their looks and some of the human idiots that own them fool you.
I'm almost up there with Bob Scott, so my next dog will probably be another small breed. I love terriers but French Bulldogs or Tibetan Spaniels also definitely attract me.
Would LOVE to try a rottie if I could find one who was both tempermentally stable AND healthy
I'd certainly get another mal though in reality the type of dutchie I'd be looking for is a mal in a brindle suit.....I like brindle....
I just want FOR ONCE to say "I would like to raise a puppy from 8 weeks from a reputable breeder" and actually get one XD I've failed twice in a row....
I'm waiting for the day that I have enough time for a high drive gsd or possibly mal. That's probably a long way in the future. I've also always like the OVB's just for a fun pet.
