I get more pissed off the more I think about the "100% failure" news release when they clearly did not test all available products and won't even say which ones they did test or in what way each failed .... when they imply that they are better than nothing but won't say how and under what circumstances. No info for buyers or for manufacturers to use in purchasing or using or re-designing.
Nothing but what seems (as already remarked) to be laying the groundwork for this org to become the standard-setter with a patented test dummy and proprietary testing protocol.
I wish I spoke German. Did it seem that (at about 49 seconds) a bigger stronger crate that was fastened down and protected by being behind an upright seat fared much much better?
Interesting...so crate doors can pop open sending the dog flying out...yikes. They should design a crate with a door that is more crash proof and some kind of materiel that doesn't shatter like that. Something that can also be secured in a car various ways to suit the needs of the owner. And I like the idea about a built in crate, that's cool too.
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.
I'm going to forward the link to my sister and neice. They're making a long distance trip from Toronto to Yellowknife. I'm hoping the video will help convince them to keep the dog in the crate while they're driving.
Love the idea of them but the price is too steep for me right now. For now my two are crated in the back of my Vue (two crates fit snugly behind the backseat). I do worry about what would happened in a rear end collision but for now I can just do the best with what I have the resources for.
