We've taken many vacations with dogs over the years, mostly by RV. You've gotten so many great suggestions, I can't think of anything to add. Have fun! I bet this will be the first of many vacations you take with Bailey!
I love traveling with my dogs. I always bring extras like collars, leashes, etc. I've been in some odd places where I couldn't even buy a good buckle collar. Or there was the time, my GSD ate through her leash even though she had never done that before!
I also have a good first aid kit...with things like Gas-X, Benedryl, vet wrap, styptic powder, etc.
Have fun! My pic below is at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore here in MI, where we rented a cabin and explored the area.
3 leashes
40ft long line

Wow, thank you all for all the added replies and great suggestions. We're taking everything you suggested and think we should be in good shape. I thought we had things pretty much covered but you came up with some things we hadn't thought of so this was a big help.
Can't wait to hit the road. I'll close the loop on this thread and let you all know how it went when we get back. Picked up some new camera equipment recently so hopefully I'll have some pics to post after trying out the new "toys".
FYI, links to pics of "dog(s) on vacation" are always very popular here.
Your wish is my command, Connie. Just to close the loop, we had a ball. Brought most of what you all suggested that I didn't think of and, as it turned out, didn't need any of it, thankfully.
Bailey did great traveling and she took to all the changes and new place very well. We hit a different trailhead twice a day and she loved every hike, exploring all the new sights and smells. Nothing all that exciting but she definitely enjoyed the trip. She slept almost all the way back so she was one tired pup after going all day each day. Even at the restaurants, we just ate at places you could dine outside and her manners were perfect.
I'm linking to a few pics I took to kind of capture the theme of the trip. Hope the link works and you enjoy them.
