THANK YOU! THANK YOU! All the dogs and their owners did a great job with their training, really a fun Contest! Big Thank You to Connie for making it happen! I hope we get more entries on the next round. If training isn't going as planned, you don't reach your goal, the bloopers are pretty fun too! I did a test drive with the jump rope with my GSD, HA, that was pretty funny, wish I had that on video.

You are so right about wanting to see "blooper" clips .... or, in fact, just the "in process" clips.
I loved the Betty and Pinker's "in process" clip, when Pinker hated the metal in his mouth. He marched over to her with it, spitting it out a tad prematurely (onto the lovely hardwood floor!) with an almost-audible "blech" expression (and a fully audible CLUNK) when he "gently" flung it from his mouth ..... that clip cracked me up.
Not only did it demonstrate that he still had a way to go, but it was hilarious!
All of the clips, from everyone, were terrific. I watched them all more than once.

Big congratulations to Betty, Tammy, Maggie, and ALL of the entrants! I watched each and every video and I truly enjoyed them all.
Hey! I just realized that this contest not only highlights what our members do with marker training .... it also lays out a darned good list (with details and video!) of ideas for training and working those doggie (and human) brains!
^^^Yes! All of the entries were motivating to me and gave me great ideas. Between this and previous contest entries that can still be found on the board, there's no shortage of fun things to train over the upcoming long, cold (for some of us) winter.

HUGE congrats to not only all the winners but all who put in the effort to make this the success it is.
Connie said
"And we can also bug Bob to get off his butt too, and do an entry! smiley for "
I swear on the graves of all my dead dogs that I will get something on video even if it just to prove that I actually have dogs.
To put this in perspective one of my daughters gives me T-shirts all the time. Here are two of my favs.
"They say I have ADD but they just don't understand because.....OH look, a chicken!"
"I promise to do something about my procrastination....one of these days."
Do you think she's trying to tell me something?!
old dogs LOVE to learn new tricks |

Well done to all the contestants, I watched the videos and I am, as ever, so impressed with all the dedication and hard work you put into your dogs, I often feel quite shamed that I have only mastered 'come' 'wait' and 'no'
Congratulations again everyone

Personally, Tracey, a clip of a good recall is very very good to see!
But also, I saw so much that was fun in those videos that it was clearer than ever how great it is to see little clips of each other's dogs.
My goal .... learn to keep my video from jiggling and learn how to edit it.
PS

YES, Bob. I do!

The prizes have been sent out, and it seems like a good time to say that
YOU GUYS ROCK!
Of course the excellent owner/trainers, with their imagination and hard work, and the terrific dogs, and also the audience, all of whom were encouraging and appreciative!
