I thought construction companies weren't allowed to burn noxious waste like pine pitch close to residences? They could seriously impact the health of someone who is sensitive to it not to mention that the stuff is probably coating everything with that nice greasy pitch soot.
It might be available for public viewing if you start having serious problems with the smoke. I can't imagine they weren't required to write out a portion of their plan to mitigate air quality concerns. The feds give states money for "clean air measures".
When I was younger I had terrible headaches at school for two weeks solid. Drove my parents nuts as they thought I was trying to get out of class. Took them awhile but when they realized it was always in a certain teachers room they finally connected the dots. They were widening the road and cutting down a lot of trees. It was kicking up something that was setting peoples allergies off. It was very nice Missouri spring weather so the teacher I went to for math would open the windows. Once she closed the windows I was fine.
Both boys are still rubbing their faces when they go outside but Chance's skin seems to be getting better, at least no worse. Everyone got a bath Even if SOMEONE had to be lifted in there! (but he didn't pee on me when I picked him up this time so that's progress)
I will be looking for the documentation on the website later today, looking for government forms always takes far longer than I think it will.
Outside - ie in the morning they'll head outside, and I caught Chance rubbing his face/muzzle on the grass a bit. We ARE seeing a lot of improvement though - the raw area has healed and it's much less red looking, his chin looks downright normal.
More baths this weekend as they are currently burning next to the lake that we walk next to every day.
I found the documents about the project and see nothing about the disposal listed there, but I did find a news article stating they were burning 'brush' and the speed limit had dropped from Oct 02.. which is when they started. Sigh.
The section you need is on the bottom of page 194 continuing into 195.
"In counties listed in subsections 1 or 2 above whose total population, as listed in the latest census, exceeds 65,000, the only legal exceptions to the general prohibition against open burning during the months of January, February, March, April, October, November, and December are 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 10, 12, and 13 under subparagraph (a) above, provided, however, that such burning, whenever feasible, be conducted between 10:00 a.m. and one hour before sunset and does not cause air pollution in quantities or characteristics or of a duration which is injurious or which unreasonably interferes with the enjoyment of life or use of property in such area of the state as is affected thereby."
Road clearance burning is not exempted as it's 11. If your county has more than 65,000 people they might be in trouble. All my layman's interpretation though!
