Yankee candle air fresheners! The kind that hang off the rear view mirror. I like them the best because the scents( vanilla, home sweet home, midsummer's night, etc) are sooo wonderful and they are strong( refresh regularly, they don't ever last long enough!)
No one ever said life was supposed to be easy, life is what you make of it!!
What's this carpeting stuff that everyone is talking about? You mean *all* dog people don't have vinyl seat and floor coverings in their van? And tile and wood floors only in their house?
Boy, I thought this was a serious dog trainers board.....
< Will watches GSD hair "dust bunnies" float across his floor...>
I can identify with the claw marks. BTW, know of any way to conceal those, at least long enough to get my apartment deposit back? I think I may have to lay down a coat of varnish.

For damp odors I use old fashioned plain (not match-light) barbecue charcoal. Put it in a dish or open container and it sops up all the nasty dampness and odors.
I now keep an open container in the back of the SUV to counter that wet GSD aroma.
Claws marks on wooden floors? The key is prevention - a dremal grinder and three strong friends and a quality muzzle ( for Fetz the wonder dog) and not a scratch to be seen!
Thanks for the wood floor tip-I'll try it. Wouldn't hurt to work on Konig's um..er.."variable surface" skills-he's pretty much all about inertia. Canine pinball.
I tried the "slicker brush" thing on our oriental rug-man does that work! I forgot that rug was red...
