He threatens to kick me off the board on a daily basis, unless I post something that is clearly embarassing. You should see the mean ass PMs he sends me. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
Can you say "abuse of power". <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
Now he'll probably make me tell you guys that I want to buy a Doberpunk or a Rottwhiner instead of a new GSD. Little jerk. . .
Lucy was diagnosed two weeks ago with cardiomyophia..stretching of the heart muscle. The vet gave a time frame of a couple of days to maybe a couple of weeks. In the subsequent days; she seemed a bit better but that was short lived.
As the days progressed; her condition worsened. She could no longer get on her feet for more than a couple of minutes without having to lay back down to rest. Yet..she wouldn't give up. I finally had to confine her to the mud room where the young pup stays thru the day. I hated to subject Lucy to the pup's antics but I had no other choices available. I prayed each night for divine intervention..but..Lucy wasn't ready to give up and let go.
When I arrived home from work on Wednesday; Lucy's condition was grave. I sat with her for awhile talking to her and checking in on her as I was doing nightly chores. When I was finally finished for the night and sat down to catch the weather news I must have dozed off for a few minutes. The dogs began barking at no particular thing or direction..I walked out to the kitchen to find Lucy in the doorway..taking her last breath. I held her close to me until she had passed. I wrapped her hindquarters within a plastic bag and began to wrap her body in a sheet. As I fumbled my motions between my tears; the pup approached Lucy and gently began to lick her ears and groom her face and then laid down by her side. The other dogs..one by one..came into the room to witness the passing of their friend and laid down around her.
We truly miss our friend and companion. I know she's now with the other's who have passed on before her and wait for our arrival at the rainbow bridge.
Im so sorry to hear of your loss, It is hard to say goodbye. But be glad that you were with her and she left this world knowing that she is not alone and that she is loved.
