What? They are serving Coca-Cola at that thing? That is an outrage!
Regarding the dog. Understand that for a very long time, dog meat is/was regarded by eastern dieticians as the ONLY domestic meat regarded as HEALTHY for human consumption. I believe they didn't come to this conclusion without some investigation.
Coca Cola on the other hand, is so full of sugar that the body must rob from it's stores of calcium (teath and bones) to counter this highly acidic cocktail. Drink enough of it and you'll end up with things like arthritus and osteoporosis.
I trust the eastern ways and although I've never ate dog, I don't have a morral problem with it. Just be careful what you
wash it down with.
Second I have been to a slaughter house and thet last time I looked it wasn't ILLEGAL to eat a cow.
Third there are plenty of people who do fight for the bulls in spain etc.. but this is a dog forum and I love dogs and thought by posting to others who MIGHT feel the same would help out the cause. I don't agree with what they do to the bulls either and if there was a petition sent to me to help stop it I would sign it or help any way I could. Have you ever been to a Bull fight in spain?
Fourth it is my point that we shouldn't be doing business with these people til this practice is stopped. But it is only my opinion
Schnauzergirl, I only posted it under PETA because there wasn't another forum that was appropriate.
GSDSAR your comment about being unfeeling could have fooled me...
BUT to be fair I will say I shouldn't have opened this discussion feeling the rage that I do towards its. I will say that I feel passionate about this and it's my opinion and no one elses. You have your opinion and I have mine. Since I have strong feelings on this subject I will no longer post on it. I don't want to get into a harsh argument on my opinions verses yours. Let's just leave it at that....
Karmen, It's OK to be passionate about a cause. But yes strong opinions on certain topics have made bitter enemies where once there were friends.
I love cooking and eating white veal. Do I like how they are raised? No. I refuse to wear fur, though I like leather. A coworker and I once had a hot debate over censorship and book banning in both public and school libraries. I am definately against it. As I work in a school/professional reference library it is a very touchy subject. Add to that it's a Catholic board. Religious issues as well. WOW. We had to agree to disagree and shut up. I thought she was WRONG. My opinion.
Humane treatment of food animals will always be an issue. And while I enjoy various Asian foods dog, cat, monkey, rat, snake, etc. will not be on my menu.
Just to lighten things up.......everything usually tastes like chicken! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
