Karmen,At least we can agree on disagreeing. Yes this dog should have a chance, but like criminals how many go through any type reform and not go back to old ways. What dog is always 100% proofed. Not that many.
I'm thinking of some small child who loves dogs and goes up and gets bite by this dog. Think of the mental anguish and way that this child will look at all dogs.
Lisa, the last thing I would want is for you to put your dog down, I'm concerned for those who may get biten.
I hope you work out this terrible ordeal that othwers have created. GOOD LUCK.

I get sick and tired of the poor dogs being punished for IDIOT A*SSHOLE BRATS who cause such aggression to begin with. Karmen, you have kids?
The dog is a liability. When there are millions of dogs out there that need saved who would not bite, why take the risk of some child losing an eye? This is a little dog, so where do you think the bite will be?
The number one claim in Home owners insurance every year is dog bites. Over 75% of all 12 year old kids have been bit by a dog. Over 85% of these same kids were bit by their own dog. I give talks about this very subject 4 times a year. A program called 'Doggone Safe and Fun' it is a program to teach children how to behave around dogs.
This dog is a liability. If it has already bitten a child why risk another? Last time I checked humans were more important than dogs.

For some reason can't edit...that was supposed to be a question not a statement.
Karmen, do you have kids?
Because, that looks like a response from someone who doesn't.

So Todd what you are saying is that any dog that has taken a nip at a child should be put down?
And no I don't have kids but even if I did my opinion would not change and if one of my kids was caught acting like an idiot to an animal there would be HELL to pay.... I do NOT condone child aggression but do not believe that a dog should automatically put down without first getting seeking professional help. Todd is this what you tell your clients when they come with an aggression problem? How do you keep clients? Have you ever had a dog that was teased by someone? Cause this sounds like someone who never has....

And no I don't have kids but even if I did my opinion would not change How many parents said that before they had kids???
I do NOT condone child aggression but do not believe that a dog should automatically put down without first getting seeking professional help. Todd is this what you tell your clients when they come with an aggression problem? How do you keep clients? Have you ever had a dog that was teased by someone? Cause this sounds like someone who never has.... Well, lets see. Here is a story that happened this past summer. Maybe you can tell me what should have been done. A woman comes into my school pushing a stroller and carrying a 10 lb dog a chance with some training? She begins to tell me how the dog has started to not be trustworthy around the child. She has had the dog for 7 years. She doesn't know what to do because it is her 'baby'. She then takes the blanket off the kid. There is a bite mark around the babies left eye. The baby is 7 mo old. Should we risk the baby? Or put the dog down?
Hell yes, any dog that bites a child should be put down. Yes, this is a blanket statement. If it happens once, it can certainly happen again. Not to bring Ed into this, but he won't even foster a bitch to someone who has lost a dog due to an accident. If it happens once it can happen again. I certainly don't want that on my mind. I was working with a dog. I send it home to a situation I can not control. My name is associated with the dog and the training. Doesn't matter if the person lays the baby on the bed walks out of the room and the Dogo jumps on the bed(another situation).
This is a situation I deal with all the time. I have plenty more scenarios if you want. That should do.
