You say he has prey drive, so that is the beginning foundation. Defensive drive can be tested as he begins to mature and can handle the stress. I personally started all of my dogs on leather rags before I moved on to tugs and balls. You might be a little ahead of yourself with the drive, focus & grip video. You really should get the video bite training for puppies. There is a lot of really useful information in that video. The ohter thing to consider is if you start to get serious with your training you should find a good trainer or a club to help you.
