Moses won BIS at Wesminister some time in the eighties with a dog called Manhattan. The comments from LOTS of people was that it was a very bitchie looking dog. I say it in person. I agree. He did seem to have a decent temperment though.
I care Joy. It is this same "we know better than (OFA/SV/whoever)how to breed champions that kills me.
Ok, so one litter was ok, but what about the other 11?
My best friend is a pro handler. We agree to disagree about AKC showing. While visiting him this Christmas we visited a friend that had repeated the same breeding 6 times, only one pup out of all those litter was anything to write home about. *shakes her head* All for a stupid 75 cent ribbon on the wall...
Yknow tho, the more I think about it, the more I am convinced that Moses is the best thing that could happen to those of us who really do care about dogs. He is such an obvious oily little slimeball and there he is, front and center as spokesprick for the ambred community, that has *got* to be turning folks away from the breed.
Still waiting for copies of Dallas's scorebook so we can all see how well he's doing in *all phases*. Probably a nice dog, too. But, excelling in *all phases* of Sch and herding?
I was speaking about the walking mop/pekingese when I made my hamster/tribble comment. Hard to believe its even the same species as a GSD, even an ASS. My neighbor has one, it's pathetic. Takes about 20 minutes to walk to the corner and back - all of 100 yards - huffing and puffing all the way.
I notice he mentioned Mystique (Atlanta's Mystique) in his interview and stated she never had any pups....Why is that?
I believe she won BIS at Westminster too, but oddly enough I can find very little info on her now. She was the talk of the town at that time and I remember watching Westminster when she won.
