A new club member has 2 dogs from there. 2 yo male has low/moderate drive, 8 mo female has lots of drive. They are new to the sport, and so the male didn't have a work oriented puppyhood to begin with. Perhaps in experienced hands they'd show a little more. Nice enough pet dogs, not what I would want though. The female shows some potential for a showline pup.
I agree the next dog I purchase will be from Ed Leerburg and his kennel. I love his site and what he stands for. It seemed that who ever started this thread was looking for a breeder. I just wanted someone to confirm what I felt. But thank you for the suggestions.
weeeeeeeelllllllllllll it s not that we only bred crap in Germany

hi Will
it s not meant like advertising, even not more or less as other kennels are linked here.
i am fine with what i breed and my clients too, i am sorry that you took that wrong but maybe once you might get a idea of my dogs and breeding and you might be one of those happy clients
For sure i do not need to recommend myself but i also dont need to hide what i do.
Bye Jutta
Will
You sure seem opinionated on your descriptions of kennels, affiliations etc. What are your credentials? I am very interested in knowing why you recommend the kennels that you did. As far as your comment about advertising ones own kennel to Jutta, I think you should make that same comment to anyone that advertises themselves, or else you look like an ass kisser.
That's good advice from Sue, why not to take a chance on showlines; the odds are against you.
My advice would be to do some research, don't rush it. Know exactly what to look for, and if possible, see both parents in person and hand-select your puppy. Make sure it's a breeder who's best interests are in what "they say" their goal is to produce(working prospects), and not just to make a buck. That's one reason why breeding untitled dogs, as this breeder does on some of hers, is something to look out for.
And also because if you're looking for a sport dog, IMO, it takes knowledge in that area for a breeder to know how to properly imprint puppies for the sport.

I don't understand your comment, I thought he just did?
Or do you mean he should also make the same comments to anyone that suggests a kennel?
Either way, I disagree with you. I don't think he should and I think making recomendations for places to start looking at working line dogs is a nice thing to do.
It is a no brainer to recomend Leerburg. There are very few US kennels that have produced the working dogs that Leerburg has. . .
If you think that is butt kissing, I think you should keep it to yourself.
And thats whats nice, we can all think what we want.
