Laura,
Thank you for partially answering my questions before I even posted them. Makes WDA sound like a "phantom" entity .
My concerns are purely practical--I was planning to title my puppies at a WDA trial this fall and now I'm not so sure. Do you have any idea as to when SV may reach a decision? And if AKC does accept biting sports, where does that leave USA? Basically, can you, or anyone else, give me a synopsis of what's going on, the implications, and prognosis--without prejudice? I hate to spend time and money on titles that may become worthless...
So if the AKC chooses to send a team to the IPO FCI Championships then this will leave AWDF holding the the empty bag?
If (when) AKC gets the MWP going, then the GSDCA will have as much right to send a team as USA; thus we are back to the spilt team issue; I am correct in saying this.
I have also heard rumour that the SV may just absorb USA as a LG instead of a different enitity all together, like the DVG does. Any comments?

I have also heard rumour that the SV may just absorb USA as a LG instead of a different enitity all together, like the DVG does. Any comments? That is IF the FCI recogizes (for lack of a better word) the AKC and everyone who currently comprises the AWDF continues on under AKC leadership (or lack thereof). If the AKC were to send MWP dogs to the FCIs from the ARC (Rots), ABMC (Mals) or the DPCA (Dobes)....Good Luck
-Sarcasm-.
I think the USA should have done this from the get go (been an LG of the SV). I feel that the organizational structure of the DVG and DVG America is much clearer b/c the US is simply and LG of the existing organization. I mean the USA and the SV have the same goals and the USA uses SV Judges and strives to conform to SV breed regulations, so why not simply be an LG of the SV. JMO.
I'm not very political so don't keep up too well with that stuff, but I'd swear that option to become an LG was proposed, investigated and shot down convincingly by the SV several years ago.
