>>It may be better if I phrase the question as, Describe your ideal club?
***The one I'm with now lol. Over 40 members with about a dozen who are serious, dedicated, and 'regular'...Club days are twice a week but I train there 3-4X/wk. The club grounds are open to members 24/7 and one can make arrangements with another member(s) to train as much as they want/when they want. We have 4 club helpers. Although at this point an SV club...we are an 'all breed club'. Each handler is in control of their own dog's training program...if a newbie...then guidance and help are available from all throughout...We put on at least 2 trials a year and have hosted the Regionals several times....Several members are very active and have been to the world's and participate in all the local/regional trials....We put on seminars and in our region just had Flinks and in 2 weeks we're very fortunate to have the calibre of Michael Ellis for a 2 day seminar at our club. The help, accessibility, and club support is available and free for the taking at all times. Some members are and have been active for years on the Regional Board and all do what they can to promote/support the sport and their members...We don't have a 'BOSS' per say lol...In fact one wouldn't even know we had a TD; as he considers himself to be an equal to the rest of the members. He is extremely humble and has no issues (ego) asking others for their opinions/help or counting on their experience...Probably just some of the reasons we're the largest club in the country. Fees are reasonable considering the help and all else that goes with it...350 CDN for single and 450 CDN for a family. Limit of 3 dogs to a 'family' membership; and 2 dogs to a 'single' membership.
Being able to pay club dues in Canadian dollars would really lower the price for me.
I gotta try that! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
