Xero certainly is a good dog, big, strong. He has had hundred's of breedings in Czech and Slovakia. Have seen Xero several times, seen some his progency, some very nice.
Don't misunderstand, I wasn't saying that Xero isn't a good dog. I would have bought him if I had known a day earlier. I just don't think he was the number one used. Wouldn't that title belong to Gero? If not then Norbo?
I know that Pohranicni Straze uses outside studs from kennels such as Jinopo, but wouldn't a stud from their own kennel be their top instead of outside ones?
Xero was privatly owned, he was only used as a stud at zPs. Just like Gero and Norbo.
Todd, my reply wasn't aimed at you;-), it was just a statement that Xero is a good dog.
Todd, Norbo is not being used very much in Czech as a stud dog.
From the Nov 1st 2001 to 30th April 2002 he has only had 6 breedings. 1 of those to the US and NONE by the Police.
Drago is a similar story with only 6 breedings in this same period of time. Again NONE by the police.
These dogs are not the dogs being used by the police.
I believe that Norbo is a good dog that does produce good consistancy. The PS kennels dont advertise on the internet and they have their own dogs they breed on such as Tom PS etc.
Chris,
What are your thoughts on why Norbo has not been used at stud that much? I have heard that the stronger Czech dogs used for breeding police service dogs, are dogs that are relatively unheard of outside of the Czech Republic. Do you find this statement to be accurate, and if so, what do you think the reason behind it is?
I have never been a fan of Tom z PS. It in my opinion is like anything else. The ones used for their own program stay their. We get the next available. Not that they are not good. Just the next in line.
Todd, what don't you like about Tom PS? He has an awesome pedigree, stunning looking, is a SUPER dog, and is one of the best producers in Czech. I have lot's of video of Tom working as a police dog as well as numerous offspring. Trust me, he's real! My friend has spent alot of time around him as has just come back from a police dog competition where the best dogs were all Tom sons.
I'd be interested in what you don't like about him.
