Yeah Butch! Dominance thing, my dog tried that a couple of times with beef bones, I say "drop it" now and he seems to want to let me have it for some strange reason.

I've let him become a house dog, worse thing I could have done. I could tell you what my dog gets away with, but if I did, I'd probably get banned from the web board permanently

Hey, do you think I can fix my butthead dog like that??
Todd, maybe I should just ship him off to your Canine College for awhile and see if you can put him in line. He seems to have a problem with male authority

Nooooooooooo! Well, maybe if you answer my question on the other thread that no one wanted to touch with a ten foot pole Either that or they thought it was a stupid question

Couldn't SQUIRT him. The water gun was empty, my wife used it on me for not washing the dishes!
 Todd, see what you started. Ha!Ha!
I don't think I'll have that same problem for a while. He is back on the program, OB daily and mind enhancing exercises. Like don't piss me off again!

God do I have a funny ass story, well it's not r e a l l y funny but I got a good laugh. I was just at the park by my house playing some ball with my little buddy and I saw this 60 some odd year old asian woman crossing the street into the park, so I'm watching to see which way she is going to go so I can recall my dog or whatever.
She stops for a second because she has 2 little rugs with her and the leashes are tangled, one of the dogs starts to get nasty with the other, she pulls one dog in the air by the harness but only about a foot off the ground because she can't lift it any higher, the other dog is barking like mad trying to kill the other one as they spin in a circle round and round and round, until the woman can no longer hold the one dog up. hahahah she drops the dog and they just go at it...nashing teeth and barking, this lady is screaming at the top of her lungs for help!!! I put my dog in a platz and start running full force at them yelling "HAAAAAAAAAAA" at the dogs which of course stop fighting and one trys to hide behind her, the other downs in submission as I approach at full tilt....scared the shit out of the little buggers.
I take one dog's leash and she grabbed the other, and seperated them before they could go at it again. I asked the lady "What the hell are you doing?" she said she was walking a neighbours dog for her, I asked "do the two dogs generally get along?" she said "No not usually" I just stood there... hahahha WTF? I walked the poor lady home with the other dog, still snarling and crap... god I wanted to just step on it's head... I hate little dogs.
This belongs in "Stupid things people think"

I guess the most stupid thing said to me by more than one person recently was, "How do you get your labs hair so curly (speaking about my chessy), do you use a curling iron, or is it permed?
Another I get often is being told by people with goldens that shepherds, meaning GSD's, are not good as guide dogs because they get HD. This usually comes from people who are trainers in programs which use labs and goldens and who should be knowledgable about the high rate of HD in goldens.
But what really surprised me was a Genetics college text book which claim HD was caused by the breeding of pure bred dogs. CAUSED BY. It claimed HD was unknown in mixed breeds or wild canines(should be canids). Even wolves trapped in the wild so they could be fitted with radio collars have been found with HD.
