VC,very interseting. To clarify my above statement.I to have seen strong dogs with a floppy ear but these dogs either developed an ear problem later in life or was the result of fighting etc not born with ears that didn,t stand.I would like to thank Mr Ed Frawley for providing a forum for people from around the world to freely express their own views & share information with others no matter how diverse.
Ive worked several dogs that had an ear flopped over that were born that way. Come to think of it none were GSDs but they were all very strong working police dogs.
Stop making excuses for your dog and start training it!
Thanks to all of you for your input. I'm going to look up the article on taping. It is strange because there are times when his ears are up but the majority of the time they are down. When he runs is on alert they go up but they are nothing like by 2 year old females(gsd) ears.
