I offer pups a mix - soupy yogurt, Structure and water soaked high quality puppy kibble mashed up as soon as they can lap...as early as 3 weeks...by 5 they are eating pretty well. After they are eating well, they get cottage cheese alternated with yogurt. My last litter have ears all up by 12 weeks, 2 were up at 6 weeks, the 3 pups with bigger ears took a bit longer...they get raw a couple of times a week to help develop as well. Pups all have had good weight and growth rate.
I don't let them go before 8 weeks, and will keep them to 10 if undecided who is going where. Against PA state law to let them go before 8.

Feeding a new born which is better a fresh goat's milk or powdered goat's milk?
If using the fresh one is there a danger that the fresh one might be contaminated ?
Maxlee, I have used both fresh and canned. Fresh is preferable, but not always available and the canned works out just fine. Not to mention it is convenient and keeps for an extended amount of time.
