Kristen,
If the dog was always running off and finding females, and was always attempting to mount them, primarily because the owner coudln't control him, first the owner needs to find the dog an owner who can control him. But we know that won't happen, so then, I guess, maybe, ahhh (hate to say it) neuter . But in this case, they want the dog neutered because they felt the dog was to aggressive. Nope, wrong answer for me. Your going to neuter a dog because of pure owner problems. If I was frequenting that park, God knows I wouldn't ever, but I would advise the couple to get some OB and manners training on their dog, my first thing wouldn't be, hey cut your dogs balls off. Furthermore, I have seen neutered dogs still act like intact males, so what are they really achieving in this situation, nothing probably except the dog can't breed, but it is highly likely that it won't change his behavior. Kristen I mean this light hearted, but I hope if your hubby ever makes you mad he sleeps with a cup
lol...that was great! (my husband thinks I'm a nut already for being a "dog person" and now I sit at my computer all day laughing out loud.)
Nuetering isn't the answer to behavior problems but it should definitely be done to all pet dogs regardless of being well behaved trained dogs or obnixious dog park dogs. The last thing we want them doing is breeding their dogs and selling them to people who are just as stupid. Less headaches for us.

Wow, some dog parks have gates and age restrictions on children??? It concerns me that some people need to be told that you shouldn’t take screaming children in strollers or toddlers to dog parks. I’ve seen people sitting at dog park benches eating and ignoring their children while strange dogs come up and lick them in their stroller...
In the 50+yrs I've had dogs I've only bred one litter. I now realize is cause I didn't have TV programs like "Breed all about it" to learn from......... Come to think about it, we didn't have TV when I had my first dog.
lol! Has anyone noticed all the Breed-All-About-it "breeders" are ummm....BACKYARD BREEDERS! Well, atleast the episodes I've seen. Some of those dog park forum people need to remember that Animal Planet is still TV and not an encyclopedia of the dog geniuses.
