Just get her on Bil-Jac puppy food. She is a pit and they are good about doing this. I know it sounds like breed snobbery but the people I have known that breed these dogs are pretty lax when it comes to care, period. This is good food and you don't need to get all super excited about how much of this or that. Stick it in the bowl and watch her enjoy. I have used this food and never had a single problem. None of the girls I put on this food ever looked like ragged coyotes when they were finished.

Bil Jac is one food I NEVER Recommend...if you care enough to take the time to post on this board, take the time to do your research on food...
Bil Jac...thumbs down. I wouldn't feed any food with corn, beet pulp and brewers yeast as the top ingredients..not to any dog, and especially not to a pregnant female! IcK....
Try a premium kibble like Innova, Wellness or Chicken Soup if you need to stick with a commercial dry food. Add fresh raw ingredients, ground meat, cottage cheese, canned fish, etc.. to round out the diet but read the labels if you choose to feed commercial food.
Funny, never had a single problem with that dog food. Haven't had a single issue. I used it for years, tried others and went back. Always used it without a problem with pregnant girls. This goes years back. They always looked real good. I like the fact they use low heat to process the meat so the proteins don't get destroyed. I think that makes a difference, and I have seen the proof.
Jeff- there is nothing funny about shit dog food. Which is what you are telling people to use on pregnant females.
With this said - Cindy probably has 100 times more experience with pregnant females that you do. I loose patence with you posting on threads that are beyond your level of experience !!!!!!
Biljack is shit food !! For anyone who cares to listen .
How many litters? All I am saying is what works for me. I have whelped a lot of litters over the years, and watched my father do the same. This "bad" dog food always did the job. Just a difference of opinion. Years ago, when my father did this it was frozen.

i am not sure. this was not somethng that i had planned. so now i am just trying to get as much information that i can.
I had just started branching into the nutritional needs of a pregnant or lactating bitch when I saw this thread. I do have some info from web sites that I know are reliable in other areas, so I am going to assume that they are equally good on this subject.
