Ok! This was just wrong but everyone that heard it was laughing.
I was at a funeral parlor today to pay respects to my SIL's grand mother.
Down on the lower level was a room to take a break, get a bit to eat and drink (water and soda).
The only ones down there were lots of kids from 6 to 16. Of course my 5 gkids were right in the middle. 8 to 16.
Of course the soda was in liter bottles and self served in...Red Solo Cups.
Yep! Loud and proud, to a child they were singing. Of course a lot of parents were getting all flustered but most just saw the humor.
I went down with my daughter and when she walked in with her hands on her hips and that "mom look" she got the standard reply from my 8 yr old grandson.
Arms out to the side and his "Whaaat" reply to the "mom look".
I reminded him again that his ears aren't getting any smaller from his mom walking him away but the ear.
I recorded an instrumental version of Chapel of Love 23 years ago for a Jr. Miss Ohio Pageant contestant, and to this day, if I hear that song, I can't get it out of my head for the whole day. I played all the instruments on the recording and then did the final production on it as well, and subsequently spent a whole week listening to that song... over and over.
Looks like we hit on one of David's favorite earworms.
I know we've talked about harmony previously, and those ladies (the Dixie Cups) still sound great together. I wonder if those are all the original members?
This one's not a disliked song (at least for me), but I heard it on the radio yesterday, and since we're goin' sixties:
