now if we can spread the popularity of using Klingon for dog commands, we can pick up a large number of Star Trek geeks into our Dog Sports. It'll work great - after all, most of them live in their parent's basements, so they'll have enough time and the funds to train hard.
Oh, har-de-har-har, Will.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Actually, I am more of a STNG fan than I am of the original series. Not entirely sure if this makes me any less of a geek but I NEVER lived in the basement...too many spiders.<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />
I will have to think about the commands, but here's a taste: batlh (honor,) Qapla' or K'apla (success- used as a greeting, thanks Becky!) Sun (discipline,) ghol (opponent/adversary.) And Daw' for revolution.....as in Jeff Oehlsen's vive la Ring Daw' .
Oy....I'm stopping there because all this is giving me a wuQ (headache) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Just do a demo at a star trek convention and you'll have it made! Have the handlers wear Trek uniforms and use the dogs in canine-oriented live-action episode reenactments!
Sleeves up, red alert! Arm the clatter sticks, open a heeling frequency!
And you could design a bite suit that looks like this... how cool would that be!??? I'd buy one! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Should inspire some Xtreme action (or a heart attack) from the dogs!
Trekkies are scarier than most dogs out there <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />. I have to admit, i'd like to see my dogs reaction to darth vader walking up to them, lol
AL
My first husband tried to spook my first Dobie with a over-the-head type rubber Halloween mask. Luckily for him, there was a lot of extra mask to grab or he would have lost his real face!

I've heard rumors that a false voice and a tee-shirt covering the face of the owner (whose name will not be revealed here) can be enough to freak out a dog...........I can't even imagine the reaction that one of those awful masks could cause! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Al, I got my friends 5 year old a darth vader costume for christmas, n his mom got him a full head darth vader helmet with voice changer... if I'm sitting on the floor n he walks up to me in that get up, he freaks ME out!!
Connie.. ha ha <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> He's used to me doin goofy stuff like that now, but I will say that if I'm sitting on my bed and pull my tshirt over my face n go "Grrr!!" he'll jump up on the bed n start nipping at the tshirt trying to pull it off my face <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Or if I hide under the covers he'll walk all over me trying to rescue me from the evil comforter. I love ma boy <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> I should get some video of it one day, his reaction definately isn't as strong as it used to be, but he's gotten used to all the weird stuff I pull on him.
