Why are you so thin skinned? It's Just A Word for elimination, it has nothing to do with being polite. This topic is so superficial, anyway. Who cares? Lets go back to talking about dogs!!! If you want to call me crude, go ahead, at least I'm not rude

Ding ding ding! Let's return to our neutral corners!
I was wondering what another poster (Selena) asked: Why are commands often given in another language? Is it because a dog may have learned basic commands as a puppy in another country, and then come here? Or what?
I understand making up potty words so we don't have to say words in public that some people might find offensive........I don't mean that.
I apologize in advance if this questiomn is as stupid as I suspect!
geh draussen means go outside, not necessarily to use the bathroom. i dont know too many dog owners who tell their dogs to 'use the bathroom'; this is new to me. i do know plenty of germans who use curse words. like this country, there are many different types, even among dog trainers.
"gehen Töpfchen" I beleave that is what you would tell a small child to do in German. don't use the other word I suggested
There are a few reasons, SchutzHund is a German dog sport and it is traditionaly done in that language. Malinois many times are taught in French. I stated early that it keeps my dogs from getting confused when I start yelling at my kids. Also you generaly don't want other people trying to give your dogs commands. A number of our forum members us Czech as well as German. I suggested on a previous thread we should use "Klingon"
