Probably they are pushing the 12 week vacc because that is typically when the maternal antibodies start to fade. Theoretically, if you could determine exactly when maternal immunity starts to lapse, you would only need to vaccinate one time. Maybe when titer testing becomes more affordable for the average Joe-dog-owner, we'll see a lot less puppy vaccs.
So now I have a new question Last night I took in a stray female husky puppy about 14 - 16 weeks, I doubt that she has been to the vet (have seen her for about a month now , she was at my husband work and there is a home close by. I did not know if she was theirs. But found out they moved over the weekend) So home she comes she gets a bath, a worming - really white gums and very skinny, and one shot puppy shot only thing I had on hand.
My question is should she get another shot since she is older? I don't want to over dose her but I want her protected since I have had pravo. any help would be great.
